Whilst the website was underway, I visited my manufacturer, who are based in Northern England for the
first time to pick up the first production order and it felt surreal to see and feel all the sizes and colours of
the Don't Let Them See You Sweat bra liner. It was also great to meet with the team at the manufacturer in person after months of
communicating via Zoom calls and emails.
Side note: If you have hopes to have your own business and have your products created, it is vital to
build a good working relationship with your manufacturer and their team as you will be in constant
communication together and need to understand how to engage and collaborate with one another.
One week, prior to the official launch date, I had a soft launch by showcasing the bra liners on a pop-up
stall in a gym after being asked by the manager to reveal the bra liners to gym girlies. This was the first time talking about body pH
to the public in person. It was an exciting day, filled with adrenaline, excitement from women who
were members of the gym and support from loved
ones.
9th February – OFFICIAL LAUNCH DAY!! The day started off doing final touches to the website and
having last minute meltdowns. After overcoming that, the website launched in the AM to the public based
in the UK. To celebrate this momentous occasion, I took myself out on a solo brunch date, picked up a
gorgeous bunch of flowers and filled my office space with star, helium balloons. It felt surreal to know that
a project that you have been working on for nearly 4 years has officially launched to the public and there
was no turning back. After being committed for this long to the business and putting trust in it, I was just
excited to start seeing and hearing people’s comments about it and the products. It was honestly, one of
the proudest days of MY LIFE.
Not long after the official launch, body pH received the first 2 orders! The moment I saw the Shopify
notification, I felt my heartbeat double in those few seconds. It now started to feel real that body pH is an
official business that now has customers.
A couple more orders followed, and body pH received it’s first review and tag in Instagram! It is fulfilling to
see customers enjoying your products and being so kind to leave a review. What kept me going whilst
building body pH was wanting to help other women who experience under-boob sweat and seeing
women post positive words about the bra liners is tremendously heart-warming and content to know that I
am indeed helping them.
